Youth Environment Awards Thursday May 21

EcoKids are entering the third year of successful environmental activity associated with the Reef Guardian program of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority

Youth Environment Awards are presented to individuals, groups, business, government services and others that have made meaningful and positive contribution to improving and maintaining the environment.

Once again, our activities will engage youth of Whitsunday in wearable art EcoArt fashions made with recycled materials and artworks that highlight our environment.

There are two challenges for kids

Wearable Art Student Challenge

For you and your friends to create a unique wearable art statement, using any recycled items. Combine and recycle used paper products (newspaper, junk mail, brochures etc.), used plastic (bags, tubing, and packaging) and any other recycled items into a wacky, interesting, inventive garment!

Show your creativity to an appreciative audience at an interesting event and win some great prizes in several age categories.

Recycled Art Collage Competition

Create a meaningful and interesting collage using any recycled items. Use your collage to convey your environmental message. Combine and recycle used paper products (newspaper, junk mail, brochures etc.), used plastic (bags, tubing, and packaging) and any other recycled items into an interesting, inventive collage. You can also use drawing or painting as part of your collage to add interest.
